You will receive your rental car at the SIXT branch, which is located on the 3rd floor of P1 parking "Rent a car" (M. Polo Parking) at Venice Marco Polo International Airport. Once you have disembarked your flight and collected your bags, leave the arrivals area and follow directions to "Autonoleggi/Car hire", take the elevator to floor 1. Follow the moving walkway to P1 Parking. Once you are inside the parking structure, take the elevator to level 3, you can find us on the right.

Pros: Quick, efficient and generally very professional

Cons: The chains provided in the vehicle did not fit the vehicle, the car was quite badly scratched and dinged making documenting the damage a daunting task. You are also expected to check the vehicle in a dimly lit parkade which makes noticing everything tedious and unnecessarily difficult.

Cons: they did NOT understand the voucher I had (discovercar's voucher) and had real problems proccessing it. The price they stated was higher than what was in the voucher. At the end, I paid more than what I should have. They offered additional insurance coverage although I already had full coverege and claimed thay my coverage was partial.

Cons: The return was without the receipt, The agent on the pick up take the deposit and promised to give it back at the moment of drop off but this doesn't happen. Price really high for short-term rent. Damage of the car not fully mentioned in the contract.

Pros: Friendly staff, easy drop off, good information about pick up and drop off.

Cons: The car wasn't great and there was no option to add a named driver until we arrived and that was quite expensive.

Driver requirements

Minimum rental age is 18 years.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 25.

There is no maximum age.
A Senior driver fee is not applied.

The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 2 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.

A driver license printed using a non-Roman alphabet (Arabic, Japanese, Cyrillic, etc) must be supplemented by an International Driving Permit.
For driver licenses from countries not party to the Geneva / Vienna Convention on Road Traffic (e.g., China), an official translation of the license in the following language(s): Italian, together with the original license, must be presented.
Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if accompanied by the regular driver license.

In order to pick up the car, the following documents are required: valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, Passport or ID card, booking voucher.
Only physical driver's licenses are accepted (not digital versions).
Learner's permits are not accepted; a full driver's license is required.

Residents of the following country(ies): United Kingdom are required to present the following document(s): valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, Passport or ID card, booking voucher, International Driving Permit (IDP) in order to pick up the car.

Deposit and deductible policy

The exact deposit is determined on pick up since the amount is dependent on the type of vehicle.
Deductible/excess will be charged per damage.

If the customer takes the following extra equipment: GPS Navigation system, Baby seat (up to 1 year of age), Child seat (2-4 years of age), Booster seat (4-10 years of age), Ski rack, Snow chains, Winter tires, then an additional amount of deposit will be held on their credit card.

Cross-border policy

Crossing the country border or using a ferry (traveling to an island) is allowed.

Information on the exact fee amount is available by request.

Crossing country borders is allowed to the following countries: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain-Mainland, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Gibraltar, San Marino.
crossing country borders is forbidden for certain car groups. In the event that Cross Border & Territorial Restrictions are violated, all protections lose their validity.

Optional extras and services

Adding additional drivers is allowed.
There is an additional charge for each driver.
Underage additional drivers are subject to both Young Driver and Additional Driver fees.
When picking up the vehicle, all drivers must be present and must provide valid documentation.

During the winter season (15.11 to 15.04), Snow chains may be mandatory on certain roads in the following locations: Northern Italy, Central Italy, Southern Italy, Italy Islands. For more information please contact the car rental provider.

Delivery/collection service is not provided.

Fuel policy

The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid additional charges.
Alternatively, the renter may purchase a tank full of fuel at the time of rental and return the tank empty.
Diesel vehicles are available for an additional charge.

Additional information

By law, winter tires are mandatory on all roads from 15.10 to 15.04 in the following regions: Aoasta-Valley.
By law, winter tires are mandatory on all roads from 15.11 to 15.04 in the following regions: South Tyrol.
Snow chains are recommended in icy/snowy conditions, especially when traveling in mountainous areas.
