Pick-up instructions

Our Sixt branch is located 300 meters away from the airport. Once you land at Girona airport, get out from arrivals hall to the street towards the taxi stop, turn left and keep walking 150 meters to the end of the terminal. Crossing the street, you will find us under three big flags in our Courtesy bus stop. Once you get there, we will be waiting for you to pick you up in our free shuttle service and drive you to our Sixt branch, where you will be welcomed by our team.

Cons: The car i rented just stopped working, i couldnt drive for a day and had to go back to the airport for another car. Sixt did just charge me for a day that their car did not work. Then after complaint they offered me 100 discount on my next rental which is ridiculous as i am never in spain except now. And the car was almost 200 per day and then they offer me this? Also i am already waiting 2 days for their answer. When you rent a car and pay they are there but when they mess it up they suddendly

Rate includes

Free cancellation with a full refund up to 48 hours before your pick-up time, Mileage: 2100 km per rental, Loss Damage Waiver (damage deductible: € 1200.00), Third Party Liability (TPL), Premium Location fee, Free modifications, State Tax.

The following mandatory surcharge(s) will be applied: Premium Location surcharge.

Driver requirements

Minimum rental age is 18 years.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 24.

There is no maximum age.
A Senior driver fee is not applied.

The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 2 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.

Driver licenses will be accepted if issued in the following country(ies): Switzerland, United Kingdom, EU.
All non-EU residents staying in the EU for longer than 6 months must present a driving licence from an EU country.
A driver license printed using a non-Roman alphabet (Arabic, Japanese, Cyrillic, etc) must be supplemented by an International Driving Permit.
Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if accompanied by the regular driver license.
For driver licenses from countries not party to the International Driving Permit treaty, an official translation of the license must be presented with the original license.
Learner's permits are not accepted; a full driver's license is required.
Only physical driver's licenses are accepted (not digital versions).

In addition to documents mentioned previously, the customer will need the following: valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, Passport or ID card, booking voucher.

Deposit and deductible policy

A deposit will be blocked on the customer's credit card and will be released within 30 days after drop-off.
The exact deposit is determined on pick up since the amount is dependent on the type of vehicle.

If the customer takes the following extra equipment: GPS Navigation system, Baby seat (up to 1 year of age), Child seat (2-4 years of age), Booster seat (4-10 years of age), Ski rack, Snow chains, then an additional amount of deposit will be held on their credit card.

Payment policy

At time of pick up, customers will be required to pay the amount of the rental and a deposit.
The following credit cards issued on the main driver's name are accepted: American Express, Diners, JCB, Discover, Airplus, MasterCard credit card, VISA credit card. Any other cards or cash payments are not accepted.

The main driver must provide a physical payment card in their name with enough funds to cover the deposit to pick up the car. The rental company will neither accept virtual credit cards (e.g., GooglePay or ApplePay) nor someone else’s card (including family members).

Cross-border policy

Cross border rentals are allowed only upon previous request.
Additional charges will be applied in case the car is crossing state or region borders.

Crossing country borders is allowed to the following countries: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Gibraltar, San Marino.
crossing country borders is forbidden for certain car groups.
Details are available from the car rental company's reservation office.

In the event that Cross Border & Territorial Restrictions are violated, all protections lose their validity.

Optional extras and services

Available special equipment: GPS Navigation system, Baby seat (up to 1 year of age), Child seat (2-4 years of age), Booster seat (4-10 years of age), Cross border fee.

Adding additional drivers is allowed.
There is an additional charge for each driver.
Underage additional drivers are subject to both Young Driver and Additional Driver fees.
When picking up the vehicle, all drivers must be present and must provide valid documentation.

Delivery/Collection service is available within city limits. Additional charges will be applied, depending on the distance.

Fuel policy

The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid additional charges.
Diesel vehicles are available only by request upon arrival.
Diesel vehicles are available for an additional charge.

Additional information

Winter tires are not mandatory in Spain.
Snow chains are recommended in icy/snowy conditions, especially when traveling in mountainous areas.

Business hours

Service outside of business hours is available by request and for an additional charge.
The supplier will hold the vehicle for 59 minutes after your scheduled pick-up time as long as it is within their normal business hours. After this time, your booking may be canceled without refund.
