Stride Rent a Car at Tampa Airport

Cons: The company One switch Rent a because required me to take out liability insurance which corresponds to civil liability insurance when I had a FAQ 27 issued by my insurer in Quebec I wanted to decline the offer but they told me that I had no choice I find it deplorable that rental companies force us to take insurance when we already have one with our insurer. I have already rented from other car rental companies and he accepted my FAQ 27.

Pros: If I can rate the overall experience 0 I would.

Cons: We were overcharged. They didn’t find our booking in the beginning and have us charged additional than what we were told online

Pros: One switch is a total scam and I did not rent from them. When asked about the hundreds of dollars in extra charges their staff got really rude and ignorant.

Cons: I didn't like anything about the service. They are very unprofessional and rude and the company is a scam. They would not accept my canadian insurance and wanted me to pay hundreds of dollars for their Insurance plus put a $3000 deposit on my credit card which doesn't make sense. If I buy the insurance it will cover the vehicle so a deposit on my credit card is unnecessary.

Pros: The service was off site from airport. When we got to the location there was a bunch of unhappy people(10-20)outside the place. The line inside was long and no one was happy, not even the representatives. As we stood in line for 20 minutes without it moving we overheard many conversations. The people who were being served at the desk were complaining about being forced into buying car insurance despite having it. Also the company was putting a 2500 charge on credit cards till returned.

Cons: The 2 ladies that were being waited on both left angry. We immediately left the line to go find another car rental place. We all including 2 other families immediately left to go back to the airport for a rental. Very slim pickings when we arrived back at the airport. Ended up using Sixt rental. But cost us $150/day for the trip. Not their fault. What we get for trying to be cheap using your company. Won’t happen again. I do recommend SIXT rental car, however.

Pros: The most terrible company, a bait and switch company. They book you for cheaper, when you arrive, they Jack up the prices for one reason or another. Everyone ahead of me got charged extra. They lost my reservation, waited one hour. Then she tells me an extra $99 because my deductible is high on my insurance. I said show me where it says that, she says “ it says in the fine print”and I told her show me where in writing does it say this, could not show me. She cancelled my reservation.

Cons: Bait and switch company, should be reported for deceptive practices. Cancelled by reservation after I told them “show me where in writing it says they could just charge me extra $99 for high deductible plan.

Pros: Other than airport shuttle, all went well.

Cons: Scam rental car company. They force you to huy extra options at the desk.

Pros: The price was great and they picked us up from the airport and returned us there to catch our flight home.

Cons: The woman who took care if us at the counter was rude and condescending. She had a major attitude problem. It took about an hour to get to the counter and get our car. She got rude when we declined additional stuff for the car such as tolls etc. We just avoided toll roads.

Pros: Clean, good price, and support staff were clear about rental rules.

Cons: This was my first off airport rental. The phone number given did not connect to a real person and getting pick up location and information was a challenge.

Pros: Not much other than maybe the service recovery received from Luis at Customer Service. One Switch is honestly one customer away from a lawsuit if they keep managers like Fabiana. How you handle some transactions is actually illegal.

Cons: The manager not only was rude, extremely inappropriate and combative, but she took my credit card, without my permission (as I told her I do not authorize her to add an additional charge) and charged it anyway as I stood there. When I asked her what she did and why I wasn’t asked to sign anything, she said to go check my email and find out. That is illegal! Now I have to worry about the company having my card number on file.

Cons: Extremely slow and unprofessional. The rental office is far from the airport and I spent ca. 1 hr to get there by a bus shuttle that was difficult to locate. My reservation was not in their system and it took them a while to finally figure it out that I booked it online. I ended up canceling my reservation at the office of “Oneswitch” because of the lots of unreasonable charges added to the previously quoted cost of renting, extremely long waiting time to confirm my booking, etc. etc.

Pros: after all the "add-ons" that were not disclosed in the initial booking of the car, it cost double the quoted price.

Cons: had to pay extra to drop the car off because I had an early flight. another thing that was not mentioned.

Cons: They had so many hidden fees, and when I tried to call the service to get help, it is hard to get in touch with somebody

Cons: They didn't have an insurance to purchase. To waive the insurance they charge $100 per day which is total waste of money. They accept personal insurance from a selected list of insurance companies.

Pros: Rental company did not acknowledge my valid third party insurance that I have and that I produced for them. They insisted that I had to purchase theirs. This is criminal activity. I cancelled at the counter after a long flight and then need to rent a car elsewhere

Pros: It was easy to find and the rental was close to the exit.

Cons: Lot of bait and switch tactics (unlimited mileage for out of state folks only, in state was additional cost) and the cost to add additional days was 210% more than original rate.
