Cons: I was greeted by someone who does not speak Greek and did not take me to the car. I was pointed to the right direction to go and find the car and when I found the car there was no one in the car park to assist me. I was asked to check the marks on the car in the dark. The car had a strange damp smell

Pros: that they knew English and tried to be patient

Cons: At the counter at the airport there is a huge glass wall that separates the clerk from you. The partition is without sound amplification. Trying to hear the clerk's explanations in English with an accent that is unfamiliar to me (English is not my native language) was complicated and required bending my ear low towards the small opening located below in the partition. Most of the time wasted was due to difficulty in communication

Pros: On arrival I was given a opal car which was old dated and didn’t run efficiently. The air con didn’t work properly either. I wasted 2 days of my holiday stressing about this and having to drive from limassol back to larnaca the day after my arrival to ask for car to be replaced. After being refused in larnaca I went to Hertz in Limassol who changed the car after telling me this wasn’t the first time Larnaca Hertz give rubbish cars out and Limassol branch have to replace them!

Cons: I don’t trust this rental company after showing image of car or something similar on website and on arrival the car is nothing like image and a lot older

Cons: They provided me w/ the wrong car. The car was very worn and old, and would not even start. This was a safety issue. I cancelled the reservation after the agent at Thrifty continued trying to jump their car to start it. I will never rent from these individuals again. FYI, this all took place b/t 1-3am in the morning on Christmas so was very unpleasant.

The following mandatory surcharge(s) will be applied: Accident Administration fee.
Driver requirements
Minimum rental age is 21 years.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 25.

Maximum rental age is 80 years.
A senior driver fee applies to drivers over the age of 71.

The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 1 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.

Driver licenses will be accepted if issued in the following country(ies): United Kingdom, EU countries.
Driver licenses from all other countries must be accompanied with International Driving Permit (IDP).
Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if accompanied by the regular driver license.

In order to pick up the car, the following documents are required: valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, Passport or ID card, booking voucher.
Deposit and deductible policy
A deposit will be blocked on the customer's credit card and will be released within 30 days after drop-off.
The exact deposit is determined on pick up since the amount is dependent on the type of vehicle.
Cross-border policy
Crossing country borders is forbidden to the following country: Northern Cyprus.
Optional extras and services
Available special equipment: GPS Navigation system, Baby seat (up to 1 year of age), Child seat (2-4 years of age), Booster seat (4-10 years of age).

Booked extras are not guaranteed. All extras are subject to availability at the rental counter.

Delivery/Collection service is available only by previous request.
Fuel policy
The vehicle is provided with a certain amount of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid additional charges.
The client must pay for the full tank upon pick up.
Additional information
Winter tires are not mandatory in Cyprus.
Snow chains are allowed in icy/snowy conditions.
In case of renting at the airport location, the customer must provide a valid flight number in order to make a reservation. The vehicle must be returned in an acceptably clean condition in order to avoid additional charges.

Business hours
Service outside of business hours is available by request and for an additional charge.
Period of time, during regular working hours, when the car is still guaranteed for the customer, if the customer is late for pick up (the grace period) is 59 minutes.
If the customer is late for a return for more than 29 minutes, extra day charges will apply, in addition to any other rental charges.
