Pros: Great car. All went well until a storm one night dropped mangos on our windshield- cracking it. We had the Mexican insurance for collision and liability but did not pay the extra $19 a day for bumper to bumper(live and learn). Over $600 dollars we were charged fir a new windshield!!

Pros: Worst car rental experience ever!! DiscoverCars should remove this company from its options for renting!!

Cons: TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! By far the worst car rental experience ever!! As everyone has already mentioned, stay away from this rental company. I made a reservation for Thrifty through DiscoverCars and it indicated it was at the airport location. We ended up having to take a shuttle to offsite location. The staff is rude. The moment you decline the CDW insurance they turn so rude and purposely delay the vehicle delivery. I had to request to speak with a manager after an hour of haggling with agent

Pros: The man who gave us the car was very thorough and took a lot of pictures of the existing damage (every panel on the car). This probably saved us from being charged for the dents & scratches.

Cons: Starting the reservation process all over at the airport was confusing. We were put in 2 different vans to be taken to "get our car" before they realized they had nothing on file for us. Then we spent over an hour in the Thrifty office getting the insurance straightened out and the paperwork completed.

Cons: I upgraded to get a navigation system, but the staff didn't know how to make it work, so we paid for something we couldn't use. The car return location was difficult to find in the busy PVR airport area.

Pros: We ended up canceling our car rental because they didn’t have a car available for us on arrival. After a couple hours of discussing options and them being able to provide a car (after another costume returned one), we decided to cancel as the price was more than the agreed upon amount.

Pros: I got a car, but...

Cons: 1: the price was NOT AT ALL the same, it was way HIGHER (almost DOUBLE) when I got the car. It was through Hertz but i guess they all work together... 2: Even tough I paid way more, I Got a smaller car because there was not any standard cars (just SUVs but way too pricy). Please note that i reserved almost 2 months in advance and it said it was available for my time-date. 3: I would just rent from a car dealer directly, at least i will get the right price upfront !

Pros: Nothing. The entire experience was awful.

Cons: They had oversold their fleet and offered me a larger car at a much higher rate or a much smaller car at the same rate as what I had paid. They were trying to rip me off any way they could and at the end of the day it took almost three hours to get a car and I wound up paying much more than the rate I had reserved.

Rate includes
Free cancellation with a full refund up to 48 hours before your pick-up time, Unlimited mileage, Collision Damage Waiver (deductible: ~€ 710.00), Theft Protection, Third Party Liability (TPL), Airport surcharge, Vehicle registration fee, Free modifications, State Tax.
Driver requirements
Minimum rental age is 18 years.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 25.

There is no maximum age.
A Senior driver fee is not applied.

The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 1 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.

A driver license printed using a non-Roman alphabet (Arabic, Japanese, Cyrillic, etc) must be supplemented by an International Driving Permit.
Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if accompanied by the regular driver license.

In order to pick up the car, the following documents are required: passport, valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, booking voucher, return flight ticket.
Deposit and deductible policy
A deposit will be blocked on the customer's credit card and will be released within 30 days after drop-off.
The exact deposit is determined on pick up since the amount is dependent on the type of vehicle.
Payment policy
At time of pick up, customers will be required to pay the amount of the rental and a deposit.
It is possible to pay and leave the deposit only with the following payment methods: MasterCard credit card, VISA credit card, American Express credit card.
Only cards issued in the main driver's name are accepted.

The main driver must provide a physical payment card in their name with enough funds to cover the deposit to pick up the car. The rental company will neither accept virtual credit cards (e.g., GooglePay or ApplePay) nor someone else’s card (including family members).
Cross-border policy
Cross border rentals are allowed only upon previous request.
Crossing country borders is allowed to the following country: USA.
Using a ferry is allowed on the previous request and for an additional charge with special permission from the car rental company.
Information on the exact fee amount is available by request.

In the event that Cross Border & Territorial Restrictions are violated, all protections lose their validity.
Optional extras and services
Available special equipment: GPS Navigation system, Baby seat (up to 1 year of age), Child seat (2-4 years of age), Booster seat (4-10 years of age).
Prices for extras are shown on the booking page.

Adding additional drivers is allowed.
There is an additional charge for each driver.
Underage additional drivers are subject to both Young Driver and Additional Driver fees.
When picking up the vehicle, all drivers must be present and must provide valid documentation.

Certain additional drivers are subject to both an Additional Driver fee as well as either a Young Driver or Senior Driver fee.
Fuel policy
The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid additional charges.
Rental period
The maximum rental period per agreement is 30 days.
If the renter would like to extend the rental period, renter should return to the car hire office at the end of the rental period to sign a new agreement.
Business hours
Period of time, during regular working hours, when the car is still guaranteed for the customer, if the customer is late for pick up (the grace period) is 59 minutes.
