Pros: Car had half a tank of gas. One bald tire. No explanation of what kind of gas to put (was a foreign car and in a foreign country).

Cons: Up sale on the insurance for the vehicle was horrible, agent wasn’t helpful with answering questions as to why it was needed. When I reserved the car I had some form insurance included.

Pros: After an horrific experience with Europcar we found the service provided by Thrifty next to faultless. Friendly and helpful staff, and best of all the didn't try to scam us into taking out insurance we didn't need.

Pros: Basically, nothing!

Cons: I was late for the pick-up, and had made the reservation through Discover Cars, and they basically that they didn’t acknowledge the “arrangement” that I had with Discover, and I was late, and all of the cars in my class were gone, and I had to take a car that was 5 classes higher, and cost approximately $400 more! I had to do it, because I had paid reservations on the coast. I know that I had my part in it, but the rep had an attitude of chastising me, and making what was happening my fault!

Cons: It was unpleasant. They were very pushy with their insurance which I declined over and over, they then became quite sour. The price they gave me was much higher than the price I was quoted by this website. I didn’t have much of a choice or my trip would have been ruined. Cons: I had a reserved car showing after 11am. my flight arrived at 2pm and he said my car wasnt available anymore and I had to rent a more expensive car. I have to call BS on that one. the car also had no spare tire and I was told to call an 800 # if there was an issue. the tires never failed but every car should have a spare, especially in Mexico.

Cons: They had NO CAR available for us despite us reserving one. There was no apology. The staff actually seemed to find it quite funny. They told us they knew the day before that there would be no car available for us but didn't bother to let us know. Disgusting service.

Pros: Nothing, it was terrible.

Cons: I arrived over an hour after my reservation time and the car rental facility gave away my car rental. I asked for another car and there were none available for several days. I was never contacted or notified that if I didn’t arrive within an hour of my reservation time my car would be given away. I had major plans to drive to a really beautiful place outside of Oaxaca City and PROPOSE TO MY GIRLFRIEND, but now that’s ruined. Thanks for nothing, very disappointed

Pros: There's nothing to like. Didn't get the rental I was reserved for.

Cons: They didn't have my car rental. The agent told me they had 20 cars in an accident and that's why they didn't have a car available. The story sounded like BS. They didn't even try to help us to make the situation better. We had to walk 2 miles away from the airport to find a local car rental company that provide us with a car. I will never book with Thrifty or DiscoverCars.com.

Free cancellation with a full refund up to 48 hours before your pick-up time, Unlimited mileage, Collision Damage Waiver (deductible: ~€ 960.00), Theft Protection, Third Party Liability (TPL), Airport surcharge, Vehicle registration fee, Free modifications, State Tax.
Driver requirements
Minimum rental age is 18 years.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 25.

There is no maximum age.
A Senior driver fee is not applied.

The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 1 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.

A driver license printed using a non-Roman alphabet (Arabic, Japanese, Cyrillic, etc) must be supplemented by an International Driving Permit.
Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if accompanied by the regular driver license.

In order to pick up the car, the following documents are required: passport, valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, booking voucher, return flight ticket.
Deposit and deductible policy
A deposit will be blocked on the customer's credit card and will be released within 30 days after drop-off.
The exact deposit is determined on pick up since the amount is dependent on the type of vehicle.
Payment policy
At time of pick up, customers will be required to pay the amount of the rental and a deposit.
It is possible to pay and leave the deposit only with the following payment methods: MasterCard credit card, VISA credit card, American Express credit card.
Only cards issued in the main driver's name are accepted.

The main driver must provide a physical payment card in their name with enough funds to cover the deposit to pick up the car. The rental company will neither accept virtual credit cards (e.g., GooglePay or ApplePay) nor someone else’s card (including family members).
Cross-border policy
Cross border rentals are allowed only upon previous request.
Crossing country borders is allowed to the following country: USA.
Using a ferry is allowed on the previous request and for an additional charge with special permission from the car rental company.
Information on the exact fee amount is available by request.

In the event that Cross Border & Territorial Restrictions are violated, all protections lose their validity.
Optional extras and services
Available special equipment: GPS Navigation system, Baby seat (up to 1 year of age), Child seat (2-4 years of age), Booster seat (4-10 years of age).
Prices for extras are shown on the booking page.

Adding additional drivers is allowed.
There is an additional charge for each driver.
Underage additional drivers are subject to both Young Driver and Additional Driver fees.
When picking up the vehicle, all drivers must be present and must provide valid documentation.

Certain additional drivers are subject to both an Additional Driver fee as well as either a Young Driver or Senior Driver fee.
Fuel policy
The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid additional charges.
Rental period
The maximum rental period per agreement is 30 days.
If the renter would like to extend the rental period, renter should return to the car hire office at the end of the rental period to sign a new agreement.
Business hours
Period of time, during regular working hours, when the car is still guaranteed for the customer, if the customer is late for pick up (the grace period) is 59 minutes.
