WheeGo
WheeGo is a multinational car rental company. Originally founded in Germany, it also offers rental vehicles in such varied European destinations as Austria, Serbia, Greece, Malta, and Iceland among others, Caribbean destinations such as St. Martin, and the U.S. State of Florida. The company should not be confused with Wheego Technologies, an American company based in Atlanta (to differentiate between the two, the car rental company is sometimes called WheeGo Mobility).
The company partners with DiscoverCars.com in many of the aforementioned destinations and has received a high rating from our customers. WheeGo gets especially high marks for the cleanliness of its vehicles, the amount of time spent dropping off a car, and the overall condition of its cars. As of July 2023, our customers have left over 1,200 reviews of the company, the vast majority of which are positive.
WheeGo won our Excellent Service Award in 2024 for the following locations: Tirana Airport in Albania; Prague Airport in the Czech Republic; Hamburg Airport in Germany, Athens, Corfu, and Santorini Airports in Greece; Gdansk, Warsaw, and Wroclaw Airports in Poland, Targu Mures Airport in Romania, and Ankara and Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airports in Turkey.
The company, considered a startup, was only founded in 2021, and has its headquarters in Duisburg, North Rhine–Westphalia, Germany. The core of its specialists, however, have ample prior experience with other car rental businesses. The company’s founder & CEO is Hubert Terstappen and the company’s co-founder and head of sales is Julian Overdreef. The company’s website is available in English as well as in German, and WheeGo also maintains a social media presence on Facebook and Instagram.
In Germany, the company has a vast fleet of vehicles ranging from cars of all sizes all the way to passenger vans, so almost any traveler can find a vehicle that suits their needs. The company also allows its vehicles to be taken to neighboring European Union countries, though you’ll need to let the company know in advance and pay an additional fee.
