We loved staying in Beau Vallon. The location, beach and atmosphere was wonderful. The Zipline with SMAC Adventures was awesome. Loved our trip to St Anne Marine National Park too. It was the most amazing family holiday.

We stayed on Mahe and drove up and around the island. Make sure you have a map or can use GPS as there are not many road signs. The roads are quite narrow and very steep and winding. Taxis are quite expensive, so a car is really useful if you want to get around.

Mahe island is beautiful. A small car like the i10 is perfect for this, given the narrow windy roads and low speed limits. Everywhere is easily accessible. The south and west sides are less busy with beautiful beaches, nice little restaurants, and local sellers of fresh produce. Eden island is worth a visit, and if your over there for a while, take a one day boat trip to Praslin and La Dique islands. The Takamaka distillery is also a must to visit, as are the botanical gardens, and for the more adventurous, a hike to the rock pool, although a reasonable level of physical fitness is needed for this as the trail is quite challenging.

Seychelles is a must to see place and without car you won’t really find out what Seychelles looks like, but driving at night and in rain can be very treacherous and one has to be very careful as the roads are very narrow uphill and downhills with lots of steep curves and cliffs if you go out of the road by an inch.

Having a car in mahe is a must! Safiya (and Daniel) was just perfect with us and helped us a lot when we needed ( I forgot something in the car 30 minutes before the boat leaves and they made all they can to bring my stuff back before leaving to praslin. We rented on three locations on the island, and all can be reached by bus. But it's much more convenient and efficient (we only had 8 days) to use a car. With the sometimes very steep road it's good to use a car with some power. I suggest not to rent the lightest car that can be found.

Would recommend buying a SIM card from Airtel once you arrive at the Seychelles airport, it’s worth the money and very useful for GPS and roaming.

Absolutely worth of visiting and exploring. Picking-on and dropping-off on airport is absolutely right decision. Be aware of narrow roads and bus/pick-up drivers: they constantly cross middle road line or intersect curves. Extra attention if you are not used to drive on left.
