The largest city in the Nordic countries, Stockholm is also one of the region’s main tourist attractions. Historic and scenic, it is a great sightseeing destination and also spoils visitors with its large green spaces, world-class museums, and busy cultural life. These are three of the most interesting attractions in and around the Swedish capital:
- Museum of Ethnography. One of the most impressive of its kind in all of Europe, this fascinating museum is made up of ethnographic and anthropological exhibitions dedicated to various regions and indigenous cultures from around the planet. The museum can be found in the so-called Museum Park on the centrally located island of Djurgården, itself one of the most visited places in the Swedish capital.
- Old Town. One of the most beautiful and well-preserved historic centers in all of Europe, Stockholm’s Old Town is the location of the Swedish Parliament, but also gems like Stockholm Cathedral, the Royal Palace, and the Nobel Museum. As with Djurgården, it’s not possible to visit the Old Town in a car, but many of the surrounding areas are accessible. The Old Town is a fantastic place to peruse at any time of the year. - Uppsala. The former Viking capital and renowned university city, Uppsala is one of the most popular destinations for a day trip from the capital. The city is defined by its majestic castle and cathedral, but it also boasts the famous Gamla site which was the original location of the Viking settlement. Arlanda Airport is actually located about halfway between Stockholm and Uppsala, with the drive to the latter taking only about 35 minutes.

Terminals
After COVID, only three terminals are in use: Terminals 2, 4, and 5. There is no separation of international/domestic terminals, it changes depending on flight schedules. There are busses between Terminals 2 and 5 without needing to go through security again, and Terminals 4 and 5 are now connected airside (there's no need to pass through security again when transiting between them).
Location
Stockholm Airport is about 37 km (23 mi) north of Stockholm. Motorway E4 and Klarastrandsleden are the main roads connecting the airport to the city.

There are also ATMs, banks, currency exchanges, on-site hotels, a lost and found office, pharmacies, a medical center, a massage, podiatry, and acupuncture center, a hair salon, baby changing facilities, a children’s play area, a fitness center, pay showers in the airport’s Rest and Fly hotel, mobile charging outlets, and an interfaith chapel. Luggage storage service is in T5, while self-service luggage lockers can be found in T2, T4, and T5. The airport is well equipped for travelers with reduced mobility. Nearest gas station
There's no gas station right at the airport, though you may see a Circle K there on Google Maps (it only says LPG, not gas or diesel). An alternate closest gas station is the Circle K at Cederströms Slinga 21B, 195 61 Arlandastad, 6km from the airport. You'll simply need to exit the highway one exit before the airport.

Uppsala is a beautiful town, but try not to park in parkings as they cost tons of money. Allegedly, the town wants to force people into riding bikes by lifting the parking lot prices. Very smart with regard to tourists, Uppsala!
