Skied. In the first week we had 2 families with us the space in the car helped get the kids to the floor without them whining. In the second week we were just 2 of us & stayed up a hill. The car was sufficiently powerful to manage with no worries.

Drive around Germany (wrong side of the road 😆) was easy, roads were well marked and the mountain views were spectacular. Traditional baverian food is really good, filling and tasty. Beer was brilliant, and seeing family again after a long time apart was awesome.

As this was a family trip over Christmas and New Year, (3 weeks in total) and we obviously observed all the correct social restrictions, the hire car was essentially left outside the house most of the time so it became an expensive convenience. Should restrictions be in place for the next trip, we will seek to hire and drop off asap then re book for our return to the airport.
