- Acropolis. No trip to the Greek capital would be complete without a visit to the ancient complex of the Acropolis which has the bulk of Athens’ most famous sites. More than 2,500 years old, it is home to ancient world miracles like the Parthenon, Theatre of Dionysus, and Erechtheum. Located just a short drive from the centre of Athens, the Acropolis is visible from most places in the city. The site obviously gets lots of tourists at any time of the year, so it’s a good idea to get your tickets online to avoid standing in the queue.
- Daphni Monastery. The ancient culture is obviously one of the symbols of Greece, but the country is just as characterized by the Byzantine period and Orthodox Christianity — after all, most Greeks are followers of this branch of the Christian faith to this day. A great place to learn about this heritage, Daphni Monastery is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Best known for its medieval mosaics, it is an impressive, but calm, place to visit. If you liked Daphni, consider a trip to Kaisariani Monastery, famous for its frescoes and surrounding gardens.
- Parnitha National Park. Made up of beautiful gorges, deep caves, swift rivers, and well-marked hiking trails, Parnitha National Park is one of the nicest nature areas that can be visited as a day-trip from Athens. Its forests are home to hundreds of species of wildlife, and the area also includes attractions such as the Tatoi Palace and the 2,400-year-old Filis Fortress. Located some 42 km (26 miles) from the capital, Parnitha can be reached in about 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Dimistana was a great start - up in the hill. Very picturesque. Lots of good restaurants to choose from. Pylos was amazing. View of the bay and beaches are idyllic. Lots of excellent restaurants to choose from. Methoni, Messene and Olympia were very interesting and well worth the visit. All in all, amazing trip.

We used the car to drive to Lavrion Marina for a sailing holiday. The carrier price was much less than using a transfer service. And after our sailing had a great couple of days driving around the Pelopennese - wonderful scenery, archeological sights, great beaches and good food!

I was visiting my Greek friehd in Makyneia, in mid May ,staying in her caravan on her land, so was lucky to be wowed by all the wildflowers, and to pick fresh strawberries from her garden every day, which I ate with pancakes made with yellow flour (bought from the local shop) and fresh daily free range eggs from her chickens. We managed to swim twice, one at her local beach near the tiny fishing harbour, and once at kalamaki beach (where you can ditch your bikini) (παραλία καλαμάκις) ( we did a beach clean there too!) as I was on a mission to paint three canvases in oils. (See askartist 's site if curious) Last time we went to Messolongi where we had a mud bath, but this was just a short one week's trip so couldn't fit everything in that I would have liked to do! We did manage a trip to Nafpaktos (Ναύπακτος) to buy shoes, after I soaked mine while helping to water the garden, and an evening at Cafe del Mar, Nafpaktos to celebrate a friend's birthday, and on the way back to rhe airport I called in to see other friends in Delphi who own rhe hotel Aeolos, and to go hand made jewellery shopping at Pagona.

Cheap and cheerful you get what you pay for. Waited for the minus about 10 minutes on both sides.
Had no issues with previous scratches a d such like stuff. We took videos of everything. Got deposit back straight away and fuel deposit the next day
The car was meant to be full to full but was 60 to 60 instead which is a ripoff as getting the right level is harder.
