We discovered a variety of excellent restaurants at Los Gigantes where we were staying. Cafe Bistro 22, Brisa The Wine Bar and Terrace (great food and entertainment). Activities we enjoyed were Paragliding (Brisa Paragliding near Adeje) and walking the Baranco del Infierno (11 Euros pp), sight seeing highlights included an early drive to Masca and a visit to the national park to see Mount Teide and the other amazing views.

Visiting the top of Mount Teide, the food served by Samelo Veg cafe was delicious, the Palmetum was by far, my surprise favourite, although Loro Park was good too, although a tiny bit busy for my preference.

Daily use of car for whole of island Able to see many things, get best weather and to go up and the down island's 7000 altitude. No dependence on expensive or time-bounded bus tours and avoided crowds. Petrol £70 for a busy week.

Driving the steep and twisting mountain roads of GC, the little Fiat 500 was amazing, rolling down hill in hybrid mode, and taking the sharp bends with ease. A great driving experience.
