Car Rental Company Customer Satisfaction

Not all car rental companies are the same. The customer experience differs highly across companies and countries.

We ask all of our customers to rate their experiences after they drop off the car. Using this data, we show the average score for all rental companies in each country.

To get the average score for each rental experience, we ask questions relating to the following criteria:

• Value
• Ease of finding the location
• Staff efficiency
• Time spent picking up the vehicle
• Time spent dropping off the vehicle
• How clean the vehicle was
• What condition was the vehicle in

Below we show the average total for every country we have enough data for. We also show the average for each of the criteria.

Most of the countries with the top ratings are in Europe - Slovakia and Finland both have average customer ratings of over 9 (out of 10). Many countries in Central and Northern Europe also have high ratings.

In the US, smaller states such as the Dakotas, Utah, and Maine have the highest ratings from customers. Southern states tend to have the lowest ratings for rental companies, including the ever-popular destination Florida — driven in part by long waits when picking up the car.
